This week we will look at the Fourth House, ruled by Cancer and the Moon, this is where you will look for concerns with your actual home, your family and parents. The start of the Fourth House is called the Imum Coeli (IC) which loosely means ‘bottom of the sky’ in latin and it’s where the ecliptic crosses the meridian in the northern hemisphere. This is the bottom of your chart and the foundation.
This is the house that will tell you about your actual house, where you live. Look for transits here when buying a new house or looking for an apartment to rent. What planets are in this space and is there a planet aspecting them? Someone with Taurus on the cusp may have a very comfy type of home, soft squishy furniture or maybe lots of artwork.
This house could tell you about your ancestors or your parents. In my oldest daughter’s chart the Fourth House contains the degree of both my ascendant and my husbands (we are her parents and this is how she sees us) but it doesn’t always work out so neatly. It is like detective work sometimes to look at how charts combine and where different influences come into play especially among family members.
Being ruled by the Moon this is also where we find links to our intuition. Find the cusp of your fourth house if you have access to your natal chart, what sign do you find there? What do you think it says about you?
