2022 Astrological Preview

As the New Year begins, we are in a period of review, we scrutinize our security and the value we place on relationships and things will undergo major transformations. Things that seemed set in stone can crumble and what was thought to be buried may resurface. Where are Taurus and Scorpio in your natal chart? These are the areas of your life that will change the most dramatically during the next 18 months.

We kick off 2022 with heavy Capricorn vibes that help us to set up a foundation for the plans we strategized in late 2021. Jupiter has shifted into Pisces, which offers hope and greater peace if we choose to look for it. Saturn is still toiling through Aquarius leaving us with restricted movement and access to society. The Venus retrograde ends on January 28^th and we will have a final opportunity to reconnect or rectify any missteps from the past 2 months. Reflection is key as we enter a Mercury retrograde that lasts from January 14^th through February 3^rd. Remember to review communications during this period and check and re-check travel arrangements.

Romance heats up as Mars and Venus chase each other throughout February and early March. This could reenergize existing partnerships or ignite new ones. A sextile between Jupiter and Uranus could bring about a surprise blessing in mid-February. Powerful connections can be formed as Venus joins Mars and Pluto at the end of February beginning of March. Be wary of people trying to manipulate or bully and resist the urge to push your own authority on to others. Relationships formed at this time can have an intense and fated feeling about them.

As we slip into spring, opportunities for philanthropy are abundant as Jupiter joins Neptune in Pisces. Explore your spirituality, delve into creativity, and spend time working on your mental health while both the modern ruler and traditional ruler tango through this sign. Be careful not to overindulge in distractions, drugs, or alcohol as this combo can push you too far. As Venus and Mars travel through Aquarius, Saturn may dowse any friction or fires so don’t be surprised if your romance from February is cooling off or just getting more serious. The partial solar eclipse on April 30^th is going to create some waves. The eclipse is conjunct Uranus in Taurus, a fixed earth sign, which could indicate earthquakes or other natural disasters, like flooding since we have a string of planets in watery Pisces as well. Personally, your security may be shaken, something you took for granted may no longer exist. There is change coming and the eclipses show us what needs to go or be remade better.

Venus and Jupiter shoot into Aries in May, adding some fire to the overall energy. The next eclipse happens on May 16^th, a lunar eclipse in Scorpio that forms a T-square with Saturn. Where have you limited yourself, held yourself back, or denied yourself? This might be the push you need to realize it’s okay to put your needs first, to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. A Jupiter Venus conjunction could herald a lucky break or an opportunity to advance if you have been putting in the work. June finds Mars and Venus in their home signs of Aries and Taurus respectively, which can bring harmony to relationships.

Mercury spends May 11^th through June 3^rd retrograde, back up your tech beforehand and try to spend this time rewriting, reworking, and reflecting. We have Saturn and Neptune turning retrograde in June which could have a slowdown effect in some ways. July and August have Chiron, Jupiter, and Uranus turning backward too. Plan to spend the summer months (in the northern hemisphere) reviewing life choices and reconnecting with yourself. August 2^nd has a Mars conjunction with Uranus, an impulsive and explosive energy so be sure to ground yourself and try to be spontaneous but not rash.

Fall brings back eclipse season, but first Pluto and Saturn turn direct which gets us ready to move forward – at least a little. The partial solar eclipse on October 25^th is conjunct Venus in Scorpio bringing an extra intensity to our relationships and financial dealings around this time. Saturn and Uranus form a square, not exact like last year but within a degree so expect a return of the tensions from 2021. Later in October, Jupiter in retrograde dips back into Pisces in November and early December, slowing the pace.

A total lunar eclipse in Taurus occurs on November 8^th and is conjunct Uranus, thus shaking up feelings of comfort and stability. Be prepared for emotional outbursts and with Mercury close by the sun some new information could come to light. Jupiter is back in forward motion by the end of November bringing optimism and planning to the forefront. December sees Neptune and Chiron turn direct while Jupiter shifts into Aries once more and we are eager to move on to 2023, with freshly revised plans and renewed energy.

2022 Horoscopes for the Year Ahead

• Aries – Keep an eye on your financials especially late April, early May and again late October, early November. There could be changes that need to be made or important information that comes to light. You may be feeling more intuitive this year or maybe just spending more time improving your mental health. From May through October, you have luck on your side, when you put in the effort, opportunities will appear. Take stock of your community involvement, do you need to set boundaries or let down the walls?

• Taurus – You are undergoing a metamorphosis, rediscovering who you are and how you fit into the relationships in your life. Be prepared for a shakeup both during Taurus season and again during Scorpio season in the fall. You may have a very busy social life this year with a bit of a breather during the summer months when you turn more introspective. You should still be strategizing your career goals and keeping your nose to the grindstone throughout the year, trust it will all payoffs.

• Gemini – You may be doing some soul searching while still juggling an ever-changing daily schedule. Keep an eye on health, it’s important to seek help if you have concerns. You may feel both pressure and opportunity in your career at the beginning and end of 2022. From May through October, you have a busy social calendar. Make time to read, explore nature, travel, or learn a new skill, especially if that is something that recharges your energy.

•  Cancer – There is a change taking place in how you express yourself, both creatively and within your community. Romance could heat up or you may find time for fun outings with friends. Travel is a possibility from January through May and again during November and early December. You may find career opportunities appear May through October, don’t worry if these don’t pan out – it is just a prep for 2023. There are joint financials that are still of concern, this is a theme from 2021 that should resolve this year.

• Leo – The balance between home and career is thrown off and a change must occur to keep the peace. You are focused on joint holdings to start the year and again as 2022 closes out but from May through October you could have new opportunities to study or travel. Partnerships are still under considerable strain, and this is very much related to juggling responsibilities.

• Virgo – Your communication style is shifting, and you are learning something completely new. It is possible that you will travel unexpectedly in the spring or fall. Relationships are generally going well this year. You may come into an inheritance or find money is owed to you from overpayment of some type between May and October. Listen to your body, if you need to start a new health regime now is the time to do it.

• Libra – You are reassessing your financial security, reviewing investments, and evaluating your cash flow and how it can be improved. You may find opportunities for new partnerships which could lead to a joint venture between May and October. Your creative flow could be restricted again this year, but you are growing because of this experience.  If you can make time for romance, a relationship may become more of a foundation to build upon.

• Scorpio – You are evolving, and your relationships are undergoing growing pains because you no longer have the same expectations you once did. Your creativity is elevated from January through May and again from November through the end of 2022, use this to your advantage. The summer months could find you with a packed day to day schedule but making time for healthy habits is smart now. The home renovations and/or family tension culminates by the end of the year. Hang in there.

• Sagittarius – Your health and mental wellbeing are the focus right now. Positive changes to your daily routine and any type of therapy or spiritual healing can be more long lasting and beneficial this year. You may find an outlet through creative projects around the house or something utilizing your imagination. Communication could be blocked or strained, but this should be resolving, and you’ll find you’ve learned an important lesson.

• Capricorn – Let yourself explore your community and give yourself permission to enjoy it. Allowing changes in the way you interact with others and just having fun will make this a memorable year. Watch for networking opportunities from now through early May. You could be looking to upgrade your living space this summer. As usual you have a tight hold on the purse strings, but once you have the financial foundation set you should be able to ease up a little.

• Aquarius – Your career is evolving, and you need to make changes in your home and family life. Early 2022 could bring a pay raise or bonus for you. Mid-year finds you tied to your communication device of choice, but this could bring in beneficial opportunities. You may feel like you have been in your own personal lockdown and that continues until early 2023 but look for the lesson in it all. You are growing in ways you never imagined possible.

• Pisces – There is a great deal of learning going on for you in 2022, enroll in a class or start a course of study. Your communication style will undergo transformation throughout this period. You are making personal growth a priority at the beginning of the year through early May. There could be some financial gains or opportunities during the summer and early fall so be open to the possibilities that pop up.Your deep emotional dredging continues and you will emerge better having dealt with this.
