Sometimes we just want to be comforted, held close and soothed. Sometimes we want to hear that it will all be okay, everything will work out. This is what I feel comes with the Cancer New Moon on the evening of June 28th. We may just feel the need for reassurance at this time but a lucky few will actually find this calming energy in their lives now.
Cancer is a sign of beginnings and new moons are perfect for planting seeds of intentions. Cancer is a nurturer, a fertile energy to grow your ideas and support your dreams. Cancer rules the home and family, what do you want to create in this part of your life? This is a time to think about our past and connections to ancestors. There is an emotional current with this water sign new moon that can be sentimental or nostalgic. Where will you release the past and write a new story?
The aspects in the New Moon’s chart are beneficial in general. The new moon is square to Jupiter in Aries, which brings if anything, too much excitement along with optimism and hope. We could rush into something too quickly or without looking over the fine print but often when Jupiter is involved things still work out for the best. The sextile between Mars in Aries and Saturn retrograding in Aquarius is still in play and may temper our ambitions. Neptune is retrograde at this point having shifted gears earlier in the day which can give this a fantasy quality, dreams that seem real and reality that seems dreamlike.
The Cancer new moon occurs at 10:52 pm EDT at 7 degrees of Cancer. Set intentions after this time and check in with your progress at the first quarter moon next year on March 28th, 2023 and look for results around the full moon on December 26th, 2023.
