We can earn our medal for courage at the Leo New Moon on July 28th, it provides an opportunity to step out of our comfort zone and embrace new experiences. This is a time to release fears that have held us back, most likely connected to creative endeavors, romance, our own ego or pride, and really put ourselves out there in a new and unexpected way.
The new moon in Leo is exact at 1:55 pm EDT and has several powerful aspects in play that can either act upon us if we allow them or work with our intentions to propel us forward into new territory. We are in the midst of a building conjunction between Mars and Uranus in Taurus this week into next (it’s exact on August 1st) which is strongly flavoring this lunation. Together these planets are explosive and a harbinger of sudden changes or unexpected outbursts. With both planets in earthy Taurus, we can expend some of this potent energy by physically exerting ourselves. If you can get outside and go for a walk, hike, or run, get in a workout or just move stuff around in your environment you could release some of this tension.
Meanwhile, Mercury has just been square to Mars and is building a square to Uranus, adding an irritating commentary or know it all comments to the anxious energy Mars and Uranus stir up. Jupiter is stationing retrograde on the 28th as well, only a short while after the full moon but he adds an emphasis on the possibilities for growth and expansion to the budding Leo moon. To top it all off Saturn is working its way into the mix with a loose square to Uranus and in opposition to Mercury, reminding us of restrictions, laws, and rulings we have been subjected to that limit our freedoms (Uranus) and excite our anger (Mars).
It’s a volatile mix BUT we can work WITH the energy to unleash potential, blast through blocks and supercharge our intentions especially around changing our personal narratives (Leo) in regard to where we may be stuck because we are too comfortable (Taurus) and ready to be more innovative (Uranus) and reenergized (Mars and Jupiter). Remember to breathe and be patient with yourself and others. We are all going through some aspect of this right now and change is never easy.
