Two planets are changing signs on Monday, December 13th and the energy will shift as we become a little less fixed and ready to change and lay foundations for new plans.
Mars in Sagittarius 12/13/21 – 1/24/22
You may feel just a smidge lighter by tomorrow morning as Mars leaves the deep dark waters of Scorpio for the wide-open expanse of Sagittarius at 4:52 am EST. Mars has researched and strategized while in Scorpio, plotting and planning, but now that he is ready for action and eager for change.
Mars motivates us, fuels our pursuits, and pushes us to achieve. In Sagittarius Mars is ready for adventure, anxious to explore and enjoying freedom of movement. Sagittarius is a fire sign represented by an arrow shooting into the air. With Mars here we may feel a need to get away, or at least to get outside more often. The energy can be scattered and hard to focus. We could be easily distracted by the next shiny thing easily, but with Venus and Mercury in Capricorn this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Use this time from December 13th to January 24th to travel if possible. If you can’t go somewhere different than explore where you live, go in a shop you’ve never been in before, take a walk around your town and pretend you are a tourist, explore your local green spaces or take a car ride to view holiday decorations. Don’t be overly impulsive or take unnecessary risks.
Mercury in Capricorn 12/13/21 – 1/2/22 and again 1/25 – 2/14
It’s time to get down to business, to be serious in our communication and plan for the future. As Mercury shifts from truth seeking whimsical Sagittarius into practical goal oriented Capricorn, we may feel a little more focused on our plans and prospects. As you can probably tell by the two sets of dates, Mercury will go retrograde in January while in Aquarius which will bring the messenger planet back into Capricorn for a bit of review at the end of January and early February. This means even if we don’t get something quite right the first time around in December, we could have a chance at a redo later on during the retrograde dates.
Mercury in Capricorn is focused and most likely has a spread sheet or two ready to go. This is a cardinal sign, meaning it’s all about starting something and with Capricorn as an earth sign that often means setting up the solid foundation to build upon later. With Mercury here contracts and commerce may come into focus but with Venus heading retrograde they could also be of concern. Astrology is a tangled web😉 Mercury is in Capricorn from 12:51 pm EST on December 13th through January 2 and then while in Aquarius, he will go retrograde on January 14th and return to Capricorn from January 25th through February 14th, stationing direct on February 3rd.
While Mercury is in Capricorn, look over any contracts or financial paperwork carefully, plan for the future, have a serious conversation you have been putting off. This isn’t a time to be lackadaisical, Capricorn really wants you to get something accomplished.
